Cadets win four of five

At Kurdelmeier Duals

Battling some outstanding competition on Saturday at home during the Gary Kurdelmeier Duals, the Crestwood varsity wrestling team competed very well as it won four duals and lost only one.

The Cadets humiliated the Clarksville Indians, 72-7, in round one; pinned Northeast Goose Lake, 52-21, in round two; downed North Fayette, 47-21, in round three; lost to Omaha Skutt, 49-15, in round four; and they defeated Dallas Center-Grimes, 51-12, in the final round.

Omaha Skutt won all five of its duals to capture first place in the team standings. Crestwood finished second and North Fayette placed third.

Six Cadet wrestlers won at least four individual matches during the day including: Brady Schmauss, 112 pounds, (5-0); Brad Klobassa, 119, (4-1); Justin Sovereign, 140, (5-0); Danny Kraft, 145, (4-1); Evan Carman, 189, (5-0); and Adam Lueschow, 215, (4-1).
